NEINVER presents Viladecans The Style Outlets at FITUR Shopping

Madrid, 21st January 2016. - NEINVER, a Spanish company specialised in property investment, development and management, is Europe’s second-largest operator of outlet centres. NEINVER returns to FITUR with one of this year’s most important project for the Spanish shopping tourism sector: the opening of Viladecans The Style Outlets this autumn.

Within the FITUR international tourism fair, FITUR Shopping is the space dedicated to shopping tourism, a vital, growing sector. For the second year in a row, FITUR Shopping will present the latest trends in this sector including the project being developed as a 50-50 joint venture between NEINVER and TH Real Estate: Viladecans The Style Outlets, the first outlet centre to open in Catalonia since 1997.

The big news at FITUR Shopping 2016

Eduardo Ceballos, Country Head of NEINVER Spain, has presented Viladecans The Style Outlets, one of the most important shopping tourism sites scheduled to open this year.

Viladecans The Style Outlets, currently under construction, will open this autumn and will be a huge draw for shoppers and tourists. When it comes to shopping tourism, the future centre has two key advantages: a strategic location (10 minutes from Barcelona’s city centre, between the C-32 motorway and the train track, 6 minutes from El Prat international airport and the Barcelona seaport) and its mix of stores, offering top domestic and international brands at a discount.

Forecasts suggest 2.7 million people will visit Viladecans The Style Outlets in its first year of operation, of which about 20% will be tourists. To encourage shopping tourism, NEINVER NEINVER is to implement different practices and services in its centres such as centre-wide Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, a multilingual tourist information point, a VAT refund office and transport between the centre and Barcelona proper, plus amenities such as food, recreation and children’s areas.

With an investment of €80 million and creation of 1,300 new jobs, Viladecans The Style Outlets is NEINVER’s first project in Catalonia and its sixth in Spain, and will be built in two phases. In Phase 1, now under construction, the 19,800 sq. m centre will have 100 stores and 1,700 parking spaces. Once the second phase is built, the centre will contain 26,500 sq. m of GLA and 130 top-brand stores.

The mix will include local brands (15%), Spanish national brands (35%) and international brands (50%), ranging from mass market to premium, in the fields of fashion, sport, footwear, accessories, decor and food service.
