The new Futura Park shopping complex in Krakow has 44,000 m2 of GLA, split between a retail park and a FACTORY outlet centre.

28,000 people visited Futura Park Krakow on its opening day.

This complex is the first in Poland to obtain BREEAM Europe certification for sustainable design.

Madrid, 26 October 2011 – NEINVER, the second-largest operator of outlet centres in Europe with operations in six European countries, just opened its new Futura Park shopping complex in the city of Krakow. The centre, which welcomed a total of 28,000 visitors on its first day, consists of a building containing two areas: a retail park and a FACTORY outlet centre, with a total of 44,000 m2 of Gross Leasable Area (GLA) including 140 shop locations and more than 1,200 parking spaces.

In addition, the Futura Park project was the first in Poland to obtain the BREEAM Europe international certification, which assesses design and construction using the most stringent sustainability parameters. The architectural design of Futura Park Krakow allows it to fit in with its natural surroundings, just ten minutes from the city centre of Krakow: the third most important city in Poland and one of the country's main tourist destinations, with a catchment area of around three million potential customers.

"Futura Park Krakow is the first project in the country to obtain BREEAM Europe certification, which measures a building's sustainability following the strictest standards for sustainable architecture and energy optimisation. Also, this project is a benchmark for Polish retail properties and reinforces NEINVER's positioning as the country's leading operator”, emphasised Bárbara Topolska, General Manager of NEINVER Poland.

NEINVER, an international future

With the opening of the new FACTORY outlet in Krakow, NEINVER strengthens its position as the leading operator in the Polish market, where it already had three outlet centres: FACTORY Warsaw Ursus, FACTORY Wroclaw and FACTORY Poznan. It also represents another step in its international strategic plan with which the company intends to reinforce its positioning in the markets where it already has presence while expanding into new countries.

NEINVER has a total of 13 outlet centres and 265,000 m2 of GLA in 5 major European markets (Spain, Poland, Germany, Portugal and Italy) and is the second-largest European operator of outlet centres, in terms of square metres managed. The Group is implementing an ambitious strategic plan to become the European leader in the outlet sector, reaching a market share close to 17% in 2013. To achieve this, the Group will develop 160,000 m2 of outlet property over the next three years.
